i just worked in the darkroom for a few hours.. developing some negatives that i had from may, of this day. they were funny. donna drinking wine on the street. and my teacher gave us our assignment, 'irrational space'. we're supposed to start it over the weekend. i guess i'll come up with something. i think the teacher hates me though. seriously. i said, "i'm not sure about the assignment yet" and he said "well you'd better get sure". ok then!

i had several legitimate conversations with people today, ones where i said more than 5 words. go me! i talked to jake, this guy who went to my high school but was 2 years older than me, and now he goes here. he invited me to some party on saturday but it sounds kind of intimidating. lots of cool people. i wonder why i don't have any trouble talking in class but talking to real people is so scary. it wasn't that bad today though.

i have these two worlds that are mutually exclusive of each other-- here, and home. when i'm here i read and go to class and never talk to anyone. when i'm home i talk to donna and dave and kevin and whoever is over at our house. and it's really easy for some reason. i never feel scared or awkward. cokeheads tend to talk a lot and that makes me feel more comfortable. i'm never afraid they don't like me. and i wouldn't care anyway, cause they're all completely insane.

yesterday donna and i went to the 9/11 free concert by the oregon symphony. i mostly just went to hear free classical music, and it was really good. except they played the national anthem at the beginning and everyone stood up and it felt really strange. and at the end they played america the beautiful and everyone sang along, and donna and i couldn't help but laugh at some of the words. but in between they played schubert's unfinished symphony and some other good things. after that we took the bus to rimsky's and heard more classical music, they had a violinist and a pianist. and we got tea i read my art reading. we walked home through ladd's addition, and matt was over and some other people came over too.

i smell really bad today. i don't know why. i hope no one is too offended.
