for the past few days i was on a train, and then when i got to minneapolis i drove down here with my family. i guess i'm used to switching between this life and my real life in portland, but it's still a little strange.

on saturday night, eva and kevin and i went to nicole's birthday party. first we went to the strip club where nicole works and watched the "dancers".. i'd never been to a place like that before and it was very overwhelming. then we all went over to her house and people started arriving. eva and i were tripping. almost all the girls besides us were strippers, all decked out in the skimpiest outfits with tons of makeup and platform shoes. most of the guys were either the scummy boyfriends of the strippers, or drug dealers. or the super-sketchy guys blowing coke in the bathroom... i thought i was doing a lot of coke, but wow... these people *loved* the stuff. the look in their eyes was frightening. i don't think i've ever seen so many drugs in one place, people walking from room to room selling things, everyone looking a little insane... we mostly sat on nicole's bed and listened to nicole and her friends talk, and watched the night go by...

once kevin started making out with a stripper next to us it was time to go.. we walked out into the brightness of 7 am, and found the bus stop on mlk. while we were waiting, a guy walked by and said, "so, did he tell you he loved you in the morning?" and we had to say, "no". i spent most of the day feeling sick and trying to sleep. on monday i woke up and packed my things and got on the train.
