todi and i left on wednesday afternoon around noon. it took us forever to get rides, so many cars passed us. once a lady with a baby in the backseat picked us up and dropped us off in tacoma. we were hitchhiking at an entrance where all the cars were going really fast and no one would stop. so we gave up and walked into town, looking for a bus to seattle. we asked this guy in a parking lot if he knew anything about buses and he offered to let us stay at his house. he was old and told us about all his money problems on the way there. his house was freezing but he had a really friendly cat.
the next morning he dropped us off at a freeway entrance. we didn't have to wait very long for rides that day. a really hyper blond girl picked us up and talked nonstop about how hitchhiking is dangerous and asked us all kinds of questions. after we got dropped off by someone else it was raining really hard. we were hitchhiking near a bus stop and when the bus came, we didn't have enough money but the bus driver let us ride for free. he took us 45 mintues up I-5, to Everett. after we got coffee at the mall, this lady with 2 kids picked us up, and when she found out where we were going she said, "anyone want to go to vancouver?" and convinced her kids to go all the way with us-- about 2 hours out of her way. it was really great. she even lied to the border people so we could get across. once we got to vancouver we had to walk for miles to get to todi's friend bryce's apartment, and then walked a lot more in the rain to shon's house, where we fell asleep.
