st. johns

today donna and i took an extremely long bus ride on the 4 to see the st. johns bridge, in way north portland. �i'd never been there before. �we walked halfway across the bridge and i took pictures. �it was beautiful and green, and i could see big ships anchored in the river, and the big scary railroad bridge, and the city in the distance. �across the bridge is the west hills, and they're covered with trees instead of houses and buildings like they are farther south.
then we walked down below the bridge, in cathedral park, and walked under all the cement arches under the bridge, and walked far out on a dock into the river. �it was so amazing.we took the 17 back to downtown and the 9 to powell and then walked home. �my new dark green converse were giving me blisters.
