it really feels like spring now. i went to powell's and read magazines and got "leaves of grass" and talked to donna. then i went to fred meyer and got groceries: soymilk, cereal, veggies, ramen, soy yogurt, film, and shoelaces. i rode my bike home slow, i tried to coast the whole way like gabe and i did this summer. it's all downhill or flat to my apartment. it was warm, but not that much warmer-- but the air smells like it did in the summer, instead of the winter smell. while i was in vancouver the flowers started blooming and they smell amazing. i love camellia trees: small trees with waxy shiny dark green leaves, and pink or red rose-like flowers. i looked at all the old houses painted pretty colors, and the gardens, and people out taking walks, and thought about how much i'm in love with portland.

OH MY DARLING
WHEN YOU SMILE
IT IS LIKE A SONG

and i can hear it now
